Animusic: Cathedral Pictures
Another superb-quality animation. The weakness of the Animusic series is that the music they base the work on is so throwaway. But that can’t be said this time. “Pictures at an Exhibition” was created by Russian composer Modest Mussorgsky in 1874. It was brought into the current musical vernacular by Emerson, Lake & Palmer in their 1971 album of the same name. It’s a solid basis for this impressive work. More info at Animusic.com.
