MIT grad student David Merrill demos Siftables — cookie-sized, computerized tiles you can stack and shuffle in your hands. These future-toys can do math, play music, and talk to their friends, too. Is this the next thing in hands-on learning?

This just blew me away! This is really innovative, not another iphone/faster pc/whatever, but a genuine step forward in everyday application of computers.

To start out, I just thought they looked like a cheap gimmick but that paint bucket and music stuff was impressive.
