I had the chance to see Stanley Jordan in concert many moons ago. There are many other great guitarists out there…cleaner, more precise and more melodically interesting…but there are none more fascinating to watch (especially the first few times you see him in action). There are a lot of guitarists experimenting with new playing techniques [...]
At first blush, it appears that a rich guy bought a helicopter, and just couldn’t wait for his instructor to come out and show him how to fly it…so he just took off on his own…with fairly predictable results. Quite an eye-popper, really.
