Dominoes, train track, various kinds of balls…all resulting in a goal in air hockey. Very cute.
I’m not quite sure what ends up in the cup at the end…it’s awfully quiet for a marble. But it’s a lot of watching watching the process.
This is one of the most extensive contraptions I’ve seen to date. Very creative. Done by a guy and his sister. Lots of matchbooks and Hot Wheels track included.
I think this guy rates about a B. None of these are “dead on”, but he has a pretty good feel for all of them…and he’s usually got some aspect of them down just perfect. And, in his defense, most of these are very difficult folks to impersonate. Ray Romano, Brad Garrett, Cosmo Kramer, Bill [...]
“Michael Hedges was perhaps the most innovative and kinetic acoustic guitarist in the history of the instrument, but he was first and foremost a composer who plays guitar, not a guitarist who plays compositions. His innovative techniques are a means to an end resulting from the demands of his compositions rather than conspicuous attempts at [...]
The late Michael Hedges playing his harp guitar, which offers a stunning dynamic range. Michael was one of the truly influential guitarists of his generation. He was killed in a car accident in late 1997. You can find out more about Michael and the fund to help support his children at nomadland.com.
Andy knocks out a wonderfully groovy treatment of the Don Ross composition. Very clean and percussive.
This guy was inspired by all the “100 Best…” lists that the American Film Institute keeps releasing. So he decided to offer up a parody of the concept. It’s self-explanatory once you start watching. It’s also interesting, funny and nostalgic. Good stuff!
Really well done commercial for Hewlett-Packard featuring Vera Wang. Excellent CG.
Looking at this door, I can imagine all sorts of things that might not work properly with it. But it’s interesting nonetheless.
Time-lapse of gravity wave action from the KCCI-TV (Tama, Iowa) webcam on 6 May 2007.
Some very, very creative Photoshops from Worth 1000…animals and other objects…morphed into something different. Music is from the Blue Man Group.
Mythbusters doesn’t do things on a small scale. Their version of a Rube Goldberg contraption is 100 feet long.
The man, the myth, the legend. Straight from the horse’s mouth, find out about the concept of Rube Goldberg perpetual motion machine concept.
I could have done without the explanation beforehand, but this is fairly well done.
Another of Honda’s unorthodox commercials. This one featuring legitimately only Accord parts to create a Rube Goldberg contraption. Very cool.
Live Japanese TV show (replete with yelling announcer) and a terrific Rube Goldberg device that prepares ramen for dinner.
Lots of little miniature parts, and some fairly irritating music.
Popular time-lapse video footage from YouTube (screen name: 06SolarEclipse) accompanied by “Sweetness & Light” by Chuck Brown. An MP3 of the music is available for free download at HealingPiano.com.
The juggling is solid, but it’s only 3 balls…so it’s not like he’s managing 7 flaming knives or something. But what makes this so enjoyable is his integration with the Beatles’ music. In linking up with Ringo’s drumming, he’s really creative and passionate…at times, he almost seems to emulate an orchestra conductor. Interesting trivia: Chris [...]
