The Cuttlefish: Kings of Camouflage

On the heels of our recent posts about the color-changing capabilities of the octopus, here’s something even more detailed and incredible. Octopus Changing Colors #2

An octopus’s camouflage is aided by certain specialized skin cells which can change the apparent color, opacity, and reflectiveness of the epidermis. Chromatophores contain yellow, orange, red, brown, or black pigments. Other color-changing cells are reflective iridophores, and leucophores. This color-changing ability can also be used to communicate with or warn other octopuses. (from Wikipedia)

Fun with Magnetic Poles

No, I can’t explain it. I’m sure there’s a scientific mind out there who will enlighten us with a comment at some point. It seems that a substance is poured over the magnet, causing it’s magnetic polarity to be reversed. Cool stuff…!

Amazing Animation Saga on Whiteboard

Really creative stop-motion animation. Remember this is done with markers on a whiteboard. So all the stuff he apparently moves with his finger is actually drawn and then he has to move his hand back into place. Feels quite seamless. Strange imagination. Fun, interesting art style. Even though this is over 4 minutes long…apparently, there’s [...]

Danny Gatton at Gallagher’s in D.C.

Danny Gatton is hardly a household name, and yet…not a conversation goes by among guitarists about the all-time greats without his name being included. This video is a great example of just why that’s the case. Whereas, for many guitarists, it’s all about the technique…for Danny, his talent and technique were so amazing that they [...]
